Privacy Policy

Life / Uncut Privacy Policy

Life / Uncut is designed to make family tapes from videos already on your iPhone. Your original videos stay in Photos, and Life / Uncut does not operate servers that receive or store your videos, photos, or app library.

Effective date: June 28, 2026

Information Life / Uncut Handles

Life / Uncut asks for Photos access so the app can find and organize videos on your device. The app may read video details such as creation date, duration, dimensions, favorite or hidden status, and location metadata that is already embedded in your photos or videos.

That information is used to create and play tapes, suggest moments, group videos by date or place, prepare exports, and help you save or share finished copies. Life / Uncut does not receive this Photos library information on a Life / Uncut server.

Life / Uncut does not ask for your current device location. Place names are based only on location metadata that may already be attached to media in your Photos library.

Photos, Videos, and Exports

Your original photos and videos remain in the Photos app unless you choose to share, export, save, or publish a finished tape. When you save a finished tape to Photos, the app writes the finished video back to your Photos library with your permission.

When you use the system share sheet, Life / Uncut creates a temporary finished video for the share you started. The destination app, recipient, or service you choose receives that video from you and handles it under its own privacy policy.

Shared Shelf and iCloud

If you use Shared Shelf, Life / Uncut uses Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services to store the finished shared tape in your iCloud account and make it available to people you invite through Apple sharing. Shared Shelf data can include the finished video, an optional poster image, tape title, date range, duration, file size, created and updated dates, and Apple sharing records.

Shared Shelf content is stored with Apple in your iCloud account, not on a Life / Uncut server. Apple handles iCloud and CloudKit data under Apple's privacy practices.

Apple Services

Life / Uncut uses Apple frameworks and services including Photos, iCloud, CloudKit, the system share sheet, and geocoding. Geocoding can send media location coordinates to Apple's geocoding service to turn them into place names. Apple handles those services under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Accounts, Analytics, Ads, and Tracking

Life / Uncut does not require a Life / Uncut account. The app does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or the device advertising identifier.

The app may use local diagnostics on your device to help with app behavior and troubleshooting, but Life / Uncut does not collect analytics or diagnostic data on a Life / Uncut server.

Support Email

If you email hello@lifeuncut.app, your email address, message, and any details or attachments you choose to send are received so we can respond to your request. Please avoid sending private videos or sensitive information unless it is necessary for support.

Support emails are kept only as long as needed to respond, maintain support records, or meet legal obligations. You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing hello@lifeuncut.app.

Retention, Deletion, and Choices

Because Life / Uncut keeps your app library local by design, deleting tapes in the app or uninstalling the app removes local Life / Uncut app data from that device according to iOS behavior. Your original Photos library remains under your control in the Photos app.

  • To change or revoke Photos access, use iOS Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Photos, then Life / Uncut.
  • To delete finished videos saved to Photos, delete them in the Photos app.
  • To delete Shared Shelf items, remove them in Life / Uncut. This removes the related CloudKit records and assets from your iCloud Shared Shelf.
  • To stop sharing with someone, manage the Apple share or remove the shared tape.
  • To request deletion of support emails, contact hello@lifeuncut.app.

Changes to This Policy

If Life / Uncut's privacy practices change, this policy will be updated. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
